Arya News Agency -On Thursday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions on more than 50 individuals, entities, and vessels accused of “engaging in Iran’s fuel trade.”
In its statement, the department said: “The Office of Foreign Assets Control is intensifying its actions against Iran’s oil and petrochemical exports, sanctioning over 50 individuals, companies, and vessels that facilitate the sale and transport of Iranian oil and liquefied gas.”
According to the Treasury’s claims, these networks have facilitated billions of dollars in Iranian oil and petroleum product exports.
The new sanctions target three companies based in the United Arab Emirates, three shell companies in Hong Kong, a Chinese refinery, and an oil terminal. The Treasury also designated several oil tankers operating under the flags of Panama, Hong Kong, and Mongolia.
